Some say how long is a piece of sting; I say how long is a stick? Well no one knows, because it could be any length. So then it would seem to me to be a pretty silly thing to assume that one could decide that they are "not meeting the standards" expected by comparing themselves to someone else.
The reason I say this is because Jonny's life is not meant to be the same as yours and your life is not meant to be the same as Mary's. You are unique by design and so no matter of comparing and calculating and trying to become like someone else will ever get you to where you are meant to be. There is only one who is perfect and worth following; everyone else has their own walk and they are made for something special, just like you are.
If we spend our life trying to be like someone else we will never be the best version of us that we can be. You know, you might be the answer to someone else problem and if you don't learn to be you and grow into the best version of you, then you might be short changing the world of the gift of you and what you bring to it, that no one else could bring.
The answer to a world problem may be in you and no one else. The answer to your neighbour may be in you and no one else. Why not take the time to discover who you were made to be and stay connected to the one who made you, because he is the source of all life and with him you can become all you were made to be.
Be you and keep growing. Don't be someone else. Let them be them and you be you, because the world needs you both. Doesn't mean you can't learn from someone else, but don't become a carbon copy of them.
