Have you ever been in a position where you felt such anticipation about what was to come?
You were waiting with joyful anticipation about the journey to come. What if you were to face the idea of counselling or change or growing with that same anticipation? What if you were to view it as an adventure, not just a destination. Oh, I get that it can be hard work and that sometimes it might be painful, but what if our mindset was different and we were anticipating a great outcome? I mean what could be better than growth or discovery?
If you want someone to walk on that journey with you feel free to reach out to us for counselling
Have you ever been stuck waiting for something, looking at the time, wondering how much longer will it take?
Wondering will it ever happen? What if things never change? Well, what if they do? Did you know that time doesn’t have to be our enemy, it can be our friend. We all have the choice to either get bound by time and caught up in the what if’s; the could be and should be’s.
What will you do with the time that you have available to you?
Will you use it to move forward or to stay where you are? Will you use your time to live life free and leave a legacy that the generations will be blessed by? We all have a chance to impact the world and to be able to make it a better place. Will you take a step today to use your time well?
Have you ever felt like you are in a position where you felt like all hope has gone and you wonder if things will ever change?
It can seem like the darkness is overwhelming and that you cannot see the any light of hope, yet the thing I have learned in life is that the darkest hour is often the one just before the dawn. So don’t give up hope of the dawn, because we all know that the dawn always comes.
There is always a sunrise tomorrow. What would it take for you to pick up that hope again?
To hold on to the life raft of hope and keep moving forward. Maybe it is time to move forward, even though you can’t see how yet; to take a step even when you don’t know where.
Because remember the light shines bright as it rises and chases away the dark. Sometimes this involves needing someone to support us in that journey, so please reach out if you need support on the journey. We can all do with someone to hold a lantern for us every now and then, so that we can see where we want to go
Light at The End,
This photo speaks to me of light at the end of the tunnel, it’s so bright, you can’t yet see what the light is on the other side, but you can see there is hope. Just like someone being rescued from a long dark cave, you can’t see the ground above yet, but you can see the light. But the thing is we have a choice, we can move towards the light, we can keep taking a step forward, yes even if it is just one or we can stay put.
We could choose to not move or even keep facing backwards or going backwards. Yes sometimes we need to know where we have come from and deal with some things to go forward, but just like it has been said before there is a big front window and a little rear vision mirror for a reason. Let’s keep things in perspective and make a choice today that no mater how small the step, you will move forward.
Just like someone coming out of a cave, there is people who are required to help make that exit, so please reach out to us for some counselling at Inspired & Equipped if you need help. But take a step forward in your life every day, don’t stay stagnate.
Rivers of Living Water,
There is lots of water here in Australia. We have water that is good to drink, water that is okay for our garden, water that is salty and water that has chemicals or pollution in it. In life we all need water, but the type of water that we put into ourselves is our choice.
What kind of what are you putting into you?
I am not talking about physical water. I am talking about water that refreshes your soul and spirit. We have a choice are we going to live on life giving things or things that slowly pollute our minds?
If we think on good things, we are helping those thoughts to grow in our mind and heart day by day, but if we think of negative things the same is also true. There is a verse in the bible that tells us that Jesus is the living water and whoever drinks of him will not thirst.
Ever Wonder Why?
Did you ever stop to wonder why their rooves are light brown and the overwhelming majority here in Australia appear to be grey? Well, I did, but then I got to thinking, what was the purpose of that thought, and I came to think it was about comparison. How often in life we get caught up in the comparison game. What they have is better, she looks better, he has more skills that me…and the list goes on.
What if you were to catch yourself ever time you started comparing?
Life is not about competing against all others and being the last man standing. It is about comradery, it is about connection, it is about commitment, it is about contentment, it is about being you and the best version of you. And in case you didn’t realise the best version of you is not having another one of your sisters, or another one of your mates. It is about being you and doing you well.
Learning to live life well. I am not saying we don’t make mistakes, but when we do, we get up and go again. What will you make a decision to do today that will help you be you?
What’s on Your Back?
Have you ever stopped to contemplate what is in your bag? What is weighing your shoulders down? I don’t mean have you ever got stuck in going over the stuff again and again. Like just sitting in the anger, the hurt, the pain and the shame. No, I mean, have you seriously taken stock of it and gone, okay do I seriously need this in my bag? Is it benefiting me? Is it helpful to my relationships? Is it helping you with your dreams? Is it uplifting? I dare say that all of us, including me have at one time had something in our bag that should not have been there. Did we say oh it’s only a bit of anger and that was a really bad thing that happened to me. Yes, it is okay to be angry, but we don’t camp with it, we don’t go to sleep with it. So maybe it is time to tip it all out and make a pile for the tip and then put the bag back on, only with what is going to benefit you and those around you. Only carry what will help you achieve those dreams. I dare say your steps will be lighter, yes it might be tough and might feel odd at first, but don’t let that stop you lightening your load.
Rocks a Foundation, not a Barrier,
It takes a perspective shift to see that the rocks on the sea floor, are a not a barrier for you to get in the water, they are a foundation so you can walk out till it is deep enough to swim. Once you have crossed the rocks, tough as that might be, you will be stronger and more prepared to go swim across the ocean towards your destination.
What if things on our way were never obstacles, but instead opportunities to grow stronger, to build up muscles, concentration and stamina to last the journey. Sometimes you need to learn to fall and get back up, so that when something knocks the wind out of you in the future you don’t give up just before the finish line.
You can and you will cross that line, if you learn to continue to hold on to the calling, to keep your eyes on the one who called you and to realise that these things were not put there to take you out, but to strengthen and prepare you. Jesus will be with you all the way and he loves you too much to let you get to the promise before you are ready for it.
Beauty in the Clouds,
Today is another amazing chance to recognise the beauty that is in the world around you. It is so sad to see that so many people don’t recognise what a blessed country they live in.
A country where there is clean water, where we are safe, where we have jobs available, where we can be free, yet protected by the law, where we can enjoy a walk along the beach alone with no fear, where please and thank you are the norm and where a layback, give it a go attitude is what its all about.
Mates, especially in the tough time, no matter your income, race or religion, where we are more united than we are divided. Yes, we could focus on the issues, but what if each one of us said thanks to someone today and celebrated the great country I call home, Australia and maybe by doing so, we would make it even greater.
Just Before the Dawn,
Have you ever got lost in wondering why it seems to be so dark, so bleak and dreary?
And then found yourself running down a rabbit warren of destructive thoughts. Well, what about changing it around? What if you recognised that the darkest hour comes just before the dawn and that the sun always rises again to great a new day.
So instead of focusing on what you are in the middle of right now, learn to sleep peacefully through it, knowing that the sun will rise soon and the morning will bring with it new opportunities, light, warmth and hope.
Because even on the coldest day the temperature still rises to wake us. So lets learn to sleep peacefully, lay our troubles down before we sleep and not carry them into the new day.
