The Reflections of Life,
We could see ourselves as a mirror, what we focus on will be what we reflect. What are you focusing on this week, this month, this year?
There are so many things we can focus on, we can focus on the man down the road who just got a new car, the woman who just got a new house or the family who just went on that dream vacation.
We can focus on others and what they have and what we don’t or we can focus on the media and all the negativity and we can even get so consumed by it, till that is all we see or we can choose to focus on something else.
We can choose to focus on what is true, pure and lovely, we can think on these things, meditate on these things and then when we look in the mirror we will see the beauty from within and the wonder from without, not the little scratch on the mirror, because some of the most shattered mirrors shine the most beautiful when the sunshine hits it, rather like a rainbow.
Choose what you give your attention to and let it shine bright
How long has it been since you sat down and took good care of yourself? I am not talking about being selfish, I am talking about the need to look after you or else risk burning out.
I know you might say, but I don’t have time, but do you have time not to? What if you keep going this way and then become unable to do what you need to? What if making some small changes to prioritize self-care would allow you to respond calmly to the day and what it throws at you and then would affect how others respond to you, in turn freeing up a lot more time and giving you more clarity and clearness of mind.
So make a choice today to make at least one small change and start caring for yourself, so you can keep being the best version of you
If we imagine our lives are like a big glass jar, we can fill it up with good things and it overflows and others get to experience the overflow of what is in us and even who is in us or we can fill it up with anger and bitterness that fight within us. If you leave such things to fill your life one day as they war within, you might fight it just explodes. So why not make an active choice today to clear out some of the junk (we all have some of it) and fill your life with the kind of fruit that matters. Fill your life with love, joy, peace patience, goodness, kindness and self-control. Let your life be a light in the vessel shining bright.
What do you need to get a roll on in life with?
Are there some things that you have put on hold because of the current situation, blaming the pandemic for not being able to get going with your goals, dreams and plans?
When will the pain of yesterday and excuses of today stop holding you back from moving forward with life and where you are called to be. There are so many things that you can do, to work towards your dreams. Don’t stay limited, be limitless, for when your mind is limitless, then impossible will not be apart of your vocabulary.
Do you need to get up a bit higher, so you can see the horizon and see the view ahead? Maybe it is time to stop living in the bottom of the valley and start walking forward up the hill, so you can get a bit better view of where you are going. There is always hope ahead and today is no different.
So what can you see on the horizon? Is it a new opportunity, a new challenge to face, a new friend to me and a relationship to develop. Lift your head and walk up that mountain, the vision will be worth it
What a beautiful thing it is to walk out in the sunshine on a warm spring day. This is exactly what I did the other day and it was a wonderful reminder that no matter what is going on, we still have a lot to be thankful for. There are so many things we can be thankful for in life, even if all you can think of is the fact that the sun has come up today and that you have breath in your lungs and can enjoy the gift of today and your precious life. So, let's make it a priority to be thankful today for what we do have, not complain about what we don’t.
Is it time to lift your sights a bit higher and fly above some of the things that have been holding you back?
What if you were to make a choice to not get caught up in the mess and the dirt, but to fly high? I am not saying be isolated, but fly high with the eagles, rather than run around on the ground in circles with the chickens.
Yes, you still need to come down at times, but don’t be someone who gets caught up trying to be someone who you are not, rather than living to your full potential. Today is a day to grow. So, fly high, be all you ate called to be
Have you ever been in a position where you felt such anticipation about what was to come?
You were waiting with joyful anticipation about the journey to come. What if you were to face the idea of counselling or change or growing with that same anticipation? What if you were to view it as an adventure, not just a destination. Oh, I get that it can be hard work and that sometimes it might be painful, but what if our mindset was different and we were anticipating a great outcome? I mean what could be better than growth or discovery?
If you want someone to walk on that journey with you feel free to reach out to us for counselling
Have you ever been stuck waiting for something, looking at the time, wondering how much longer will it take?
Wondering will it ever happen? What if things never change? Well, what if they do? Did you know that time doesn’t have to be our enemy, it can be our friend. We all have the choice to either get bound by time and caught up in the what if’s; the could be and should be’s.
What will you do with the time that you have available to you?
Will you use it to move forward or to stay where you are? Will you use your time to live life free and leave a legacy that the generations will be blessed by? We all have a chance to impact the world and to be able to make it a better place. Will you take a step today to use your time well?
Have you ever felt like you are in a position where you felt like all hope has gone and you wonder if things will ever change?
It can seem like the darkness is overwhelming and that you cannot see the any light of hope, yet the thing I have learned in life is that the darkest hour is often the one just before the dawn. So don’t give up hope of the dawn, because we all know that the dawn always comes.
There is always a sunrise tomorrow. What would it take for you to pick up that hope again?
To hold on to the life raft of hope and keep moving forward. Maybe it is time to move forward, even though you can’t see how yet; to take a step even when you don’t know where.
Because remember the light shines bright as it rises and chases away the dark. Sometimes this involves needing someone to support us in that journey, so please reach out if you need support on the journey. We can all do with someone to hold a lantern for us every now and then, so that we can see where we want to go
