Oh the Dark Night,
While at first glance this photo may seem to be a long walk on a dark night, with little light or hope of change, but when we look a bit deeper, we see there is a light at the end of the walk way, there is a light shining the way to go. Have you stopped to look and see that in your life even on the darkest night there is still hope, there is still a light that shines bright for all to see. Would you take the time to stop worrying about the black, it only lasts for a season, but the light will never go away. There is always hope for tomorrow, so stay on course and walk towards not just the light of hope, but the one who is the light of the world and his name is Jesus.
A Cloud or a tree,
Is this photo of the cloud or is it of the tree? Or is in fact the photo of the sky? Why should it be one or the other and why not all three? What if we stopped looking at someone else like she is so much better at this than me or he is so much better looking than I, what if we stopped seeing the world as them and me and saw it as us and we. What if instead of seeing someone who could be our friend as our competition and saw them as our brother and our sister. What if instead of division we saw unity? What would the world be like then? Would it then not be like this photo, three distinctly different things, each with a purpose, one brings rain, one holds the air and one grows to shelter the birds, but not one can do without the other, each requires the other and above all, they all require the creator who holds them all together. So lets be united and see we are all required and all unique.
Nestled among the Hills,
Are you complaining that you are not on the mountain top, when actually you are surrounded by such beauty? Why not look at where you are, take a walk up the mountain and see the beauty that surrounds you and say thanks for it. It can be so easy to complain about everything that is bad and forget that there is a God in heaven who cares and if we think we have nothing think again, the fact you are reading this means you must have a phone or a computer and so you surely don’t have nothing if you have that. I dare say if you have that, you probably also have a roof over your head and food in your stomach. So maybe it is time to be thankful and actually express it.
Red in the Evening, by Indi Leigh
It has been said by someone that red in the evening is a shepherds delight, it is the promise of good weather tomorrow. But maybe sometimes we get so caught up in the promise of tomorrow, that we forget to live in today. Maybe it is time to live in today, admire the beauty, celebrate it for what it is and not focus on tomorrow. Because if we always hope for a better tomorrow, not that hope is wrong, but if we never stop to enjoy today, then we will never actually get to the hope and maybe in fact we will keep living disappointed because the better day never comes, because we are so focused on tomorrow, rather than on enjoying today, while still dreaming and growing.
For Everything There Is A Season, By Indi Leigh
Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn, they all have a different purpose or represent a different time of year. In life there are seasons, sometimes there is the season of just getting by, like winter, the stuff that was stored up, might even help us get through a long cold winter. Then after the rain, there comes spring and the new growth and then there is summer and the warmth and the light and the laughter that hours in a swimming pool or chasing a brother around with a water gun bring and then comes autumn, when all the magnificent colours come out as you let go of some thing and keep only what you need for the winter. If you take too much into winter you get weighed down. Maybe it is time to enjoy the season you are in, make the most if it and let go of anything that would hold you back or keep you there longer than you need to be. Because for every season there is a time and a purpose and they don’t stay the way they are forever, you can’t its winter in summer or you will overheat, so let go of the winter stuff and embrace this new coming season and celebrate the new growth you have now.

The Sun has Risen,
Oh, that feeling when the sun has risen after the night or the feeling of the warmth on your face after a cold night. Sometimes it can feel like the night will never end, like it just keeps getting harder, but the thing is we have a promise that the Jesus is the light of the world, so if he is the light of the world and his word is a lamp to our feet, then no matter how dark the night seems, the light will always be there, but whether we can see will depend on what we are focused on. Are we walking in the light or side tracked complaining about how dark it is. Let’s be people who know that there is always a light in this world and we need to walk in it. Let’s be people who know the power of the word to bring light to any and every situation.

What Are You Hiding Under?
What is it that you are hiding under, that was made to be walked on top of. The thing is, that this is a photo of a bridge and the main purpose of a bridge or a pier, is to be walked on, to be on top of it, not underneath it. So, while you are underneath it, you can only go so far and you hit the water, whereas on top you will have the ability to get from one place to another, or to anchor a boat from which you can go out to another place or even to fish and catch food. So, while underneath might be ok for a season to keep you dry from the rain, sooner or later the tide will come in and you will get wet there and not only that you won’t be able to see any possibility of the horizon. So maybe it is time to get on top of the things you were not made to be under.
Time to Rest,
Maybe it is time to take a day and be just like these cows. Have you been so busy or so stressed in this season, that you have forgotten to rest? Maybe it is time that you stopped and took some time. The mess will be there tomorrow, the stuff your facing will still be there for you to deal with another day and so maybe you need to just stop, be still and rest. Be still and know, know that he is God and he is in control. There is no need to worry about today, it will be gone in a few hours and then there will be the hope of tomorrow. So, take a rest, get filled up, so you can enjoy life to the fullest.
Oh, The Magnificence,
What magnificent countryside. Sometimes it is so easy to get use to the daily life that we don’t even notice what we have. When was the last time you stopped to appreciate your friend, to tell your spouse that you love them or give your child a hug, just because you can. Sometimes we can get so caught up in life that we are floating along with the current and oblivious to the reality of how blessed we actually are. There are very few of us who have nothing at all in the western world, yet we complain often so freely about everything we don’t have and fail to recognise and be thankful for all we do have. Take a moment today to be thankful and let the people you care about know that you are thankful.
Ahh, the beauty of the alps and the magnificence of the water. It’s easy to sit here and dream of being able to be in such a beautiful place. But the thing is that everywhere around us we have beauty. The question is not when can I go to such a beautiful place, but when will I stop and take notice of it. Even the walk down your suburban street has the potential for you to see and experience beauty. When will we stop being so busy, like "busy" is a badge to wear with pride, that we don’t even take notice of the beauty that surrounds us every day. Sometimes the things we need in life, are not the things that cost money, but a moment's silence enjoying the handiwork all around us.
